Villars is a ski resort, offering over 200km of ski runs, with a world-wide reputation. The town is situated on a sunny plateau in the heart of the Vaudois Alps at an altitude of 1250 m. Villars is within easy reach of Lausanne and Geneva. It is an idyllic location with a magnificent south facing panorama including views of the Mont Blanc.
The school, set well away from the traffic, consists of a main building and a new luxury annex standing in a wooded park, where the children pursue various sporting activities. In the winter the children are able to ski directly back to the school. The school houses 55 boarders (boys and girls) drawn from aIl parts of the world and consisting of many races and religions. It also welcomes day students. The same international mix also characterises the students attending our summer school

Accommodation
The girls and boys have separate quarters. The bedrooms accommodate 2, 3 or 4 students and the rooms are well lit with views over the Swiss Alpes. Each room has a desk and an area for the pupil to place his/her personal belongings.The older boarders live on the campus in a separate chalet with a house parent. The chalet is modern and well equipped with bathrooms, dressing room and there is an area for the children to relax. The younger students live in the main building with the directors. There is a common room for the children who live in the main chalet.

Programme
We follow the British and French curriculum. We also have a programme for Intensive English courses for students who have no prior knowledge of English.We can guarantee an excellent academic programme given by fully qualified and experienced teachers. Small classes within our school allow individual attention, given the children confidence in themselves and promoting greater academic progress

Studies
La Garenne offers a choice of comprehensive programmes in French (CP – 5eme) or English (Year One – Year 7/8). There is a Special English Programme for children whose mother tongue is not English.
Children study in an excellent academic atmosphere. The educational programmes are well balanced, innovative and comprehensive. Special attention is paid to bilingual proficiency, computer studies, music, art and sport. There is a well-equipped computer suite. An art room for drawing and painting and a music room with a piano and various other musical instruments.
Small classes working in well-lit and spacious rooms with scope for individual attention, achieve excellent results. Well qualified and dedicated teachers who know how to stimulate their students, and promote their intellectual social and emotional development.
