Hormonal stimulation.

Hormonal treatment for women consists in taking of medical drugs (these may be both tablets and injections) for the purpose of Baer's cell growth stimulation and ovulation initiation. Ultrasonic research and blood analyses are held for control of Baer's cell growth. The fertilization happens during the sexual intercourse or by means of an artificial insemination.

Artificial insemination.

Before the procedure, the semen is preliminary processed for release of mobile and normally generated spermatozoons, then it is entered by means of a rubber catheter directly into the uterus during ovulation.

Artificial (extracorporal) fertilization (ECF).

This method is used in cases of full obstruction of uterine pipes, presence of endometrioid formations or when the reason of sterility may not be revealed. The method consists in fertilization outside an organism of the woman: fertilization of Baer's cell occurs in laboratory conditions with the subsequent transfer of embryoses to uterus (by means of a special catheter).

Intracite and plasmatic injection of spermatozoon (IPIS).

IPIS is the same as ECF with additional entering of a spermatozoon directly into the cytoplasma of the Baer's cell. The method may be applied in cases of low concentration of spermatozoons in semen of the man.

Freezing of sex cells and embryoses (cryopreservation)

As a result of hormonal stimulation of ovaries from 3 to 15 Baer's cells may be obtained on the average. However, not more than 3 of them may be delivered into the uterus after fertilization for the purpose of minimizing the risk of multifetal pregnancy. Other cells may be frozen and stored up to five years. Thus, only one hormonal stimulation is required in most cases (if high-grade Baer's cells are obtained).

Microsurgical epididymis semen aspiration (MESA) / testicle spermatozoons extraction (TESE)

This method is used, if there are no spermatozoons in the sperm (these may be cases of inoperable impassable spermaducts or consequences of operations on tumours). In some cases, (for example, in cases of spermaducts occlusion) spermatozoons are completely absent in ejaculate, fertile semen may be extracted from epididymis or from testicle. MESA is a method of semen extraction from epididymis. TESE is made with the help of tissue slice taken from testicle. In ICSI both methods may be combined. Extraction from testicle or epididymis is a harmless operation. Tissue may be frozen in IVF laboratories; this means that the procedure should be made only once.

Donation (donorship) of Baer's cell or embryoses, surrogate maternity, cloning and pre-implantational diagnostics (PID) are forbidden by the law in Switzerland.
